Rick Williams is the son of Naomi and the late Neil Williams and grew up in the Marshall area. He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1973, and attended the Ohio University-Chillicothe branch and Southern State Community College. In 1979 he married Connie and they have 2 children, Brad and Lauren, daughter-in-law Brittany, and granddaughter, Brailee.
Community involvement is a big part of the Williams family life. Rick serves as Entertainment Chairman of the Festival of the Bells. He has booked many famous and successful artists, such as Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Chris Cagle, Joe Nichols, Trick Pony, Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton, Josh Gracin, Darryl Worley, Little Big Town, Taylor Swift, Emerson Drive, Neal McCoy, Julianne Hough, Kip Moore, Justin Moore, The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum, The Farm, Dustin Lynch, Frankie Ballard, Eric Paslay and Parmalee.
Rick is also an active member of the Hillsboro Rotary Club and received the coveted Paul Harris award in 1999. Rick is serving as the President of the Hillsboro Rotary Club for 2015-16.
The Chamber of Commerce recently selected Rick to become a member of the Board of Directors, serving on the Ag committee.
Brad Williams is the son of Rick and Connie. He began his auctioneer career as soon as he learned to count. Many hours were spent with his toy tractors lined up in front of the fireplace, selling tractors to anyone present. In 2002 Brad graduated from Repperts School of Auctioneering.
Brad also graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2001. During high school he was an active member of the FFA Chapter, serving on many committees and as treasurer his senior year. As a member of the Chapter he received his Chapter, State, and American FFA degrees. In 2005 he received the Honorary Chapter Farmer degree from the Hillsboro FFA for his support of the Chapter and his efforts with the annual FFA Alumni Consignment Auction, which he started during his freshman year in high school.
After high school Brad attended Southern State Community College and OSU-ATI in Wooster, earning an Associates Degree in 2005.
Brad volunteers at the Highland County Fair serving as a Senior Superintendent in the Swine Barn and serves on the 4-H Committee, & Jr Fair Sales Committee. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Highland County Cattlemen’s Association.
In 2011 Brad married the former Brittany Grooms and they have two daughters, Brailee and Brynna. Their family resides on the family farm in Leesburg.
Brad currently operates a grain/cattle farm, auctioneers, owns Williams Farms Seed & Chemical, as well as Williams Snow Removal LLC.
Chip Yochum joined the company in 1999. His auction career began after graduating from Missouri Auction School. He is the son of Fred (also our clerk) and Barb Yochum, growing up in the Mowrystown area. He graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1996 and attended The Ohio State University. His high school years were kept busy with FFA activities and showing cattle. As a member of the FFA, Chip received his Chapter, State and American degrees. Chip and his wife Shannon are proud parents of a daughter, Emma, and son, Connor. They keep busy raising show cattle. Chip also works at car auctions in Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, and Kentucky. He is also on the Board of Directors for the Highland County Cattlemen Association.
Fred Yochum is the clerk of the operation. He joined the company in 2002. Fred retired from teaching math at Hillsboro High School. He is a graduate of Whiteoak High School, Ohio University and Miami University. Fred and wife, Barb, are the proud parents of three children, Marcy, Chip, and Abby; two son-in-laws, Clint and Bruce, daughter-in-law Shannon and grandparents of six grandchildren, Carter, Emma, Connor, Ann, Ryan, and Andy. In 1996 Fred and Barb were chosen as Honorary Chapter Farmers by the Hillsboro FFA Chapter. Fred spent a great deal of time with Branden of Fortress Technologies, to develop the “Auction Tracker” program from the clerk’s point of view. He also is very innovative in creating just the right tools (stands and carts) to make his job easier. Fred is a member of the Board of Directors of the Highland County Cattlemen Association.
Harold Neal, is the son of Chauncey and Audrie Neal, a native of Lawrence County, Ohio and a graduate of South Point High School. Harold and his wife, Crystal, have three adult, Jade, Beth, and Blake, and four much-loved grand boys…Jimmy, Elijah, Alden, and Parker. Harold and Crystal work together backgrounding cattle and operate a gate and livestock equipment business on their farm in Pike County, Ohio.
Harold was a member of 4-H and FFA organizations during his school years and exhibited hogs at the Lawrence County Fair and the Ohio State Fair.
In 2000, Harold graduated from the Warren County, Ohio Auctioneering School. Since 2002 he has been an auctioneer for the Union Stock Yards in Hillsboro, Ohio.
Lauren Williams Morris is the daughter of Rick and Connie Williams. She is the cashier in the auction trailer. Lauren is a 2006 graduate of Hillsboro High School, and a 2010 graduate of Wilmington College with a degree in business and accounting. While in high school she was active in FFA and sports. She served two years as the Chapter Reporter receiving gold and silver pins at the state level for her work. Lauren has received her Chapter, State, American Farmer degress, plus has been recognized as a Honorary Chapter Farmer from the Hillsboro FFA.
Lauren volunteers at the Highland County Fair serving as a Senior Superintendent for the Cattle Barn and as the Adult Treasurer for the Highland County Junior Fair Board.
She is married to Jared Morris from Xenia and is employed as an auditor.
Brittany Williams is the wife of Brad, and mother of Brailee and Brynna. She works as a cashier in the trailer. Brittany graduated from Hillsboro High School in 2004. She is also employed as a dental assistant for a local dentist. Brittany helps Brad on the farm, especially with the pumpkin and produce sales.
Blair Kenney works as a cashier in the trailer. She is employed with a local attorney and title company as an administrative assistant. Blair graduated from East Clinton High School in 2010. Blair has a daughter, Kegan, who enjoys helping her mom and aunt with their business, Kenney Sisters Show Pigs and Clint High Show Pigs.
Connie Williams is the wife of Rick, and mother of Brad and Lauren, mother-in-law of Brittany and Jared, and Grammy of Brailee and Brynna. She tries to keep everything in order with the business! Connie is the daughter of Bill and Frances Baldwin, both who have been big supporters of the business. She graduated from Fairfield High School, Wilmington College, and Wright State University. Teaching was Connie’s full-time career, but retired in 2014 after 35 years. Her time is busy with Brailee and Brynna, revisiting hobbies of sewing and crocheting, and keeping Rick straight.
